Crime Prevention and Leadership
Starting in September, STOMP takes weekly character-building, leadership, and crime prevention classes with Seniors at each district. This is a great opportunity to build relationships with the students, and this enables mentoring to be influential. The crime prevention lessons are built to stimulate class discussion and to develop an understanding/awareness of crime in society today and how it affects each of us as individuals, as well as a larger population group.
We also have weekly character-building/leadership classes with the 7th-graders in each district. We utilize the Character Strong curriculum. The Character Strong curriculum helps build relationships and create a healthy community by teaching the kids healthy coping skills and conflict resolution, which helps to gear them towards an other-centered mindset. Each Student will develop lasting leadership and character qualities and will instill a most important positive self-image
