Empowering Youth. Supporting Recovery. Inspiring Change. Why I Serve:
I serve at STOMP because I truly believe in our mission. I believe in doing everything we can to prevent children from ever picking up a drug and starting down a long, dark road that can change the course of their lives.
I believe in investing in the next generation - encouraging them, equipping them, and helping them become the best version of themselves. Every child deserves someone who believes in them and reminds them of their worth and potential.
I also believe in the power of speaking life into people who have fallen into the grips of addiction. So many people find themselves trapped in a hole so deep they can no longer see a way out. I know that recovery is possible, and I love walking alongside people as they navigate the steps necessary to overcome obstacles, find hope, and reclaim their lives.
At STOMP, we have the opportunity to make a difference on both sides of the journey - preventing addiction before it starts and helping people find freedom when they are ready for a change. That's why I serve.
My Role at STOMP:
As Executive Director of STOMP, I oversee the organization's programs and operations to ensure we are effectively fulfilling our mission of prevention, recovery support, and community outreach. My responsibilities include:
*Grant Writing & Recording
*Program Oversight & Development
*Building & Maintaining Community Partnerships
*Leading Recovery & Homelessness Outreach Efforts
I work closely with schools, community organizations, churches, law enforcement, and local leaders to expand prevention education, support individuals and families affected by addiction, and connect vulnerable populations with resources and hope. Through grant management, strategic planning, and community engagement, I strive to ensure STOMP continues making a lasting impact in the lives of students, individuals in recovery, and our communities.
Favorite Part of Working at STOMP:
My favorite part of working with STOMP is that I get to serve our communities and know at the end of the day, that I lived my day with impact and purpose. A Few Things About Me:
When I'm not working, I love staying active. You can usually find me out for a run, or spending time in the gym. Fitness has become an important part of my life and helps keep me physically, mentally, and spiritually strong.
I am proud to serve as President of the Jacksboro Lions Club and as a board member of the Jacksboro Chamber of Commerce. Community service has always been a passion of mine, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the town that I love.
One of my greatest honors was being named Citizen of the Year in 2024. I have also been honored by the Jacksboro Lions Club with both the Grassroots Award, and the Distinguished Service Award, recognizing my commitment to community service and leadership. These recognitions are especially meaningful because they reflect my desire to serve others and make a positive impact in the lives of those around me.
Whether through STOMP, the Lions Club, or other community organizations, I am passionate about helping people, strengthening our communities, and living a life of purpose and service.
FUN FACT:
I can make funny noises!
Why This Mission Matters To Me:
This mission matters to me because I have seen firsthand the devastating toll that addiction can take on families and entire communities. Addiction doesn't just affect one person - it impacts parents, children, spouses, friends, and everyone who loves them.
I have witnessed the heartbreak, loss, and hopelessness that addiction can create, but I have also seen the incredible power of prevention, recovery, and restoration. I know that lives can change when people are give the tools, support, and encouragement they need to make different choices and find a new path forward.
That is why I am passionate about both prevention and recovery. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow up free from the influence of drugs, and every person struggling with addiction deserves hope, compassion, and the chance to rebuild their life. Through STOMP, I have the privilege of being part of a mission that works to prevent addiction before it starts while also helping individuals and families find healing and restoration.

Why I Serve:
For as long as I can remember, I've been a teacher in one form or another. Whether I was helping siblings, cousins, classmates, friends, students, or clients, I naturally gravitated toward educating and encouraging others. I believe God has gifted me with the ability to teach and has given me a special passion for working with young people. My role at STOMP allows me to combine those gifts and passions in a meaningful way by serving the youth in our community. Every opportunity to educate, encourage, and empower a young person is a chance to make a lasting impact. Making a difference in even one life is incredibly meaningful to me. Knowing that our work has the potential to positively influence countless lives is both humbling and inspiring. It is a privilege to be part of helping young people build confidence, make healthy choices, and discover their potential.
My Role at STOMP:
* Design instructional content that supports STOMP's mission
* Deliver engaging lessons to students across Jack County
* Build relationships with community stakeholders, other nonprofits, and local leadership to focus our resources and spread STOMP's mission
* Collaborate with school leadership to assess and meet the needs of students on campus
Favorite Part of Working at STOMP:
It's impossible to name my favorite thing about working at STOMP because there are so many things I love about my job. But, if I had to narrow it down, my favorite parts would be:
* Working with our amazing Executive Director, Katy Hammond, who is encouraging, supportive, and inspiring. She is a treasure
* Getting the opportunity to educate young people on topics that truly matter
* Getting to participate in all the various programs and special events that STOMP hosts! No two days are ever the same!
A Few Things About Me:
Personally: I am a fourth generation Jack County-ian on both my mom and dad's side. I am a dog mom to a rescue mutt named Cooper, who is the best boy! I am the proud aunt to one niece, Emilia Jane. I love to play golf, rock climb, swim, travel, and do anything competitive!
Professionally: I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in General Studies with concentrations in Biology, Sociology, and Philosophy from the University of North Texas. I also have a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Midwestern State University. I love teaching in any subject.... from math to science, English literature to character education, and especially drug prevention. I am a certified educator in Texas and Montana.
FUN FACT:
I've been to the capital city of 8 different countries, but I have yet to visit Washington D.C.
Why This Mission Matters to Me:
I've seen first-hand the devastating effects of addiction. I've had family members struggle for years without being able to get clean. I've also had family members that made a different choice for themselves and were able to break the cycle of addiction in their life. It wasn't easy for them. If I can keep a child from ever going down that path, I know I will have made a difference not only in their life, but in the lives of those who love them and those that will come after them. Addiction doesn't just affect the addict, it affects everyone in their life.

As a social worker, I believe prevention is one of the most powerful ways we can support young people. By providing education, encouragement, and practical skills early on, we can help students navigate life's challenges with confidence and make choices that lead to healthier futures. STOMP's mission aligns closely with my belief that every young person deserves support, hope, and opportunities to succeed.
