2026 XTREME Challenge Camp Registration
2026 XTREME Challenge Camp Volunteer Registration
XTREME Challenge Leadership Camp is held in the first week of June. Our camp is open to incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students in Jack County and Chico. There are 30 spots each year for campers. We also utilize student volunteers who are Juniors or Seniors in High School to provide positive mentorship and encouragement throughout the week.
Day 1: We kick off with a meet the first responders' ceremony. This is where all our first responders from each local department come, and we have one of them talk to the kids about character-building and leadership. Then we take the kids to the hospital to tour the hospital and an ambulance. Then, the kids will learn and get certified in "Stop the Bleed."
Day 2: We take the kids to the Fire Department, where they learn and get certified in CPR and First Aid. This is also the day we take them to Group Dynamix over in Carrollton, where they play various team-building games and climb on rope courses.
Day 3: We take them back to the fire department. This time, they tour the department and the different fire trucks, learn about fire by demonstration, and even get to put on the firefighters' uniforms. They end their time there by spraying the firehose. Then we take them to the police department, where they tour the department, tour a police car, take fingerprints, and learn about various policing things.
Day 4: On the fourth day, we take them to the football field, where they meet the athletic director and run an awesome obstacle course. After that, we take them back out to the lake, where a celebrity guest speaker has a motivational talk with them about overcoming obstacles. After this, we have relay races with wheelchairs and crutches, so the kids know how difficult it is for individuals to be in them. After that, we take them to Fort Richardson State Park, where they will have a guided tour. Then, the Game Warden has a gun safety course and a water safety course for the kids, and we go kayaking.
Day 5: We take them to the sheriff's department, where they get to put on drunk goggles and ride a bike around cones so they can see how difficult it truly is to drive intoxicated. After that, the sheriff takes them on a tour of the jail. Then, to conclude everything, we have all the first responders' personnel and parents come, and we have a closing ceremony with a slide show of their week with certificates. Then we have a swimming party at the city pool. It's a lot of fun, and the kids have a blast!
